Business Intelligence Developer with very good SQL skills

Responsibilities:

  • Develop in Vermilion the full set of required reports as per agreed timelines
  • Ensure that appropriate C&W governance, methodology, processes and reporting standards are applied when developing the reporting packs in Vermilion
  • Prepare estimates for development hours for each report upon analysing the reporting spec's provided by BA
  • Promptly report risks and issues that can cause delays in delivery to the project manager
  • Maintain regular progress meetings with BA and project manager to monitor progress and adherence to the reporting delivery plan
  • Liaise with Vermilion consultant to discuss/address any technical issues that might arise from the reporting development activities

Requirements:

  • T-SQL Scripting and development
  • Experience of writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions and views
  • Excellent knowledge of database fundamentals
  • SSIS and core ETL work
  • Report creation knowledge & experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and towards strict deadlines
  • Commitment to attend a 3 day vermilion training session & to get familiarise with Yardi data structures (if the candidate doesn't possess prior knowledge of Yardi)
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements and reporting specifications prepared/collated by business analyst into Vermilion reports
  • Strong communication skills - including ability to easily convey information and queries to be answered to enable the reporting development to non-technical colleagues
  • Strong analytical skills (most reports will include numerical information)
  • Ability to prioritise for other developers and work to stringent project timescales
