Product Support Engineer

Purpose of the function:

We are currently seeking a Product Support Engineer, who will work closely with other S&T staff and key business users across the organization to provide application support using a variety of technologies.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provides support for applications on a daily basis, including, but may not be limited to, reviewing problems reported, prioritizing and researching these problems, determining the solutions, and resolving them;
  • Documents processes and procedures required for support;
  • Learns new applications and functionalities as required;
  • Participates in special projects, usually involving implementation of a new tool or application;
  • Travels as necessary but is minimal (expected to be less than 5%);
  • Works with confidential data and exercises utmost caution to keep data safe and secure.

Requirements:

  • Approximately 1-2 years of experience with developing or supporting applications;
  • Knowledge of: WebSphere or JBOSS, RHEL, VB, XML, Toad, DataStage, Unix, JAVA/J2EE, C/Visual C++, JavaScript.;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL 10g (11g or higher preferred).
  • Ability to manage a time bound and varied workload while demonstrating strong attention to detail.
